

HistoryTen months. And still nothing. I could be anywhere, but I am lying here, writing my story. I was a freshman in the local community college. My best friend and I had registered for the same classes, and today was the first day. We took my car, parked, and were walking in to the downstairs café that was on the campus. People that we knew from our high schools were already sitting at the tables that covered the café floor. Noise rose from the mass, almost deafening our ears. Reflections- PrologueSitting on the sofa, she was reading the story that was enacting itself in her mind, tears rolled down her face. They just trickled down, her mind lost in the life that was the story. How many times does this happen to me, she thought, I become paralyzed, unable to rip myself away from the tale that unfolds. The chapter ends, and she gets up and walks to the bathroom down the hall, feeling the cool breeze where her tears left a trail, chilled by the passing air.
